WOMEN'S CANCER SUPPORT
Talk to other women who are going through the same thing. Feel the connection of a friend who has walked the path of coping with cancer. This is a fun and supportive group offering care and compassion for women navigating the path of any kind of cancer. You will feelencouraged as you face the reality of your situation with faith and hope. We have a variety of literature and other resources that are available for you. A highlight of the year is our High Tea in the Spring and Christmas caroling to all the Oncology Centers of Santa Rosa.
We meet weekly on Thursdays at Starbucks on the corner of Farmers Lane and Highway 12 (near Coco’s). We meet the 1st Thursday of each month in a private residence.
Email our Cancer Support team leader (Laurie McClish) for information, meeting times, and locations.
Breast Cancer Support Group Testimonial
“Finding the support group on the Hope Chapel website was a blessing in disguise. I’ve never been a “group” person (I’m the type that sneaks in and out of church without taking the time to socialize), however, after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008 I knew I couldn’t do it alone, I would need God and others. Very scared and hesitant to attend my first meeting (not knowing anything about the group or the attendees) Laurie, the group host, was there to welcome me. I found the meeting to be an informal, drop-in group of wonderful women. They immediately made me feel welcome, included, and safe. They presented me with a bag full of wonderful pink little gifts, and most of all helped me to feel hopeful. All of the women were in different stages of breast cancer and willing to share their stories. This group was not only incredibly supportive, but they knew all of the best doctors to have on your cancer team, could give you their personal experience with professionals in and outside of our area, and became my online resource where I could ask, receive and share questions and answers. I feel attending these meetings were instrumental in finding peace during my war against cancer and also re-focusing from the shock and disbelief toward the healing path.” ~ Jeannie
